IATAが料金決済システムからシリア航空を外した？
IATAは、カナダ政府からの要請に基づき、IATAの料金決済システム（BSP）からシリア航空を外すことを決め、全世界に通知した。
シリア航空筋は、加入したのは2008年のことで、それまでは個別に関係を構築して販売していたので、以前のやり方に戻るだけだ、と強気の発言。現在、措置の撤回を求めて交渉している。
（同じソースの英語版の記事↓）には、少し違うことが書かれていた。BSPは、客が一つの窓口で購入したチケットを、利用する航空会社間で精算するシステムなので、これを使えないと、海外ではSyrian Airの予約ができなくなる。
・・・というのだが、国際組織のIATAが、カナダ政府の要請をそのまま全世界に流すなんてことがあるのだろうか？一応、会議を開いて決めたのか？
カナダ政府の金融制裁の対象は、石油分野（ガスを除く）と特定個人だけだと思うので、カナダの銀行システムがシリア航空を排除しているわけではない（参考：カナダ政府の対シリア制裁）。カナダ政府がIATAに要請するにしても、何を根拠に要請したのだろうか？
この情報は、現時点では英語で流れていないようだが、事実だとすれば、経済制裁。

An International Aviation Organization, "IATA", headquartered in Canada, at the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Canada, circulated to all offices and airlines around the world, to suspend the participation of Syria to a clearing bank BSP (or post-paid and a settlement service with the Syrian Arab Airlines). This is a system that allows for anyone to buy a ticket of the Syrian Air from any office in the world, followed by any airline, whether Arab or foreign. This procedure came in a series of oppressive measures against the Syrian people.
IATA circular is as follows:
On 23/12/2011, IATA, the Global Aviation Organization, at the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Canada, circulated to all travel agents in the world, to stop work immediately subsequent to the payment and settlement system with the Syrian Arab Airlines, and refunds, which charge from their customers, and under the amended economic measures of force against Syria (sanctions), and modifications, IATA will stop providing financial services to, from or for the benefit of any person in Syria, or linked to the Syrian Arab Republic, and for this, the IATA suspends the work to "payment and settlement service" with the Syrian Arab Airlines.
But sources in the Syrian Arab Airlines played down the importance of this procedure, and called the action unjust, in that some Western countries are seeking to apply abuse and pressure on the Syrian people. These sources confirmed for "Syriandays" that the continued suspension of participation of Syria In this procedure is not important, because the institution is in a position to continue to work regardless of its participation, which means a return to work, as was the case a year ago, before 2008, the Syria participated in the organisation, open direct sales offices, which is a direct relationship with Syria, this is the best point of payment schemes.
