ゼネコン協会会長（正確には会長という単語ではない）が本部で記者会見を開き、反政府デモ・武装集団による破壊活動が、各種プロジェクトに多大な影響を与えていることを明らかにした。（興味あるところだが、具体的な記述なし。）
また、資材のコストが契約時より上昇しており、補填されない場合は、プロジェクトを休止したり、多くの労働者をレイオフしなければならないと指摘した。
2004年法律第51号で、契約後の価格変動が15％を超える場合は、15％までは企業が対応し、それ以上は公的部門が補填するとある（ので、その規定を適用してほしい、とまでは書かれていない）。
ほかの3事業者も、政情不安に加え、鉄、木材、銅、賃金の価格上昇への対応が限界に達しており、多くの会社が工事を休止した。
シリアには建設会社が1万5千社あり、従業員・労働者300万人を抱えている。

Contractors considered that the attack on the Syrian public and private property from an armed subversive groups caused significant damage to construction works and undertakings carrying out.
Said Mohamed Ramadan, Captain construction contractors at a press conference at the headquarters of the union need to compensate contractors for the cost of building materials prices as a result of the exceptional situation of the current, which caused great losses may hinder the implementation of projects for public entities contracted to lead to the suspension of these projects and lay off a large number of workers.
The Ramadan that Article 63 of the unified contracts system of law 51 for 2004, stating that in the event that occurred after the presentations and for the duration of the contract, increases in prices led to increased costs of sum of the parts, which have not been implemented by 15 percent of its value under the undertaking shall bear the contractor 15 percent of this increase, and the public bear the remainder of the increase.
