The Grenada government signs a Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA) with the Netherlands on Thursday.
The signing will mark the end of months of negotiations which to ensure that both countries are not used for illicit financial purposes.
The signing of this agreement is being considered a reflection of Grenada's and the Netherlands' shared commitment to complying with international standards on money laundering, terrorist financing, tax compliance and financial regulation.
A statement from the Ministry says the signing also reflects both Governments' shared commitment to implement international principles of transparency and effective exchange of information.
In his 2010 Budget presentation, Minister of Finance Nazim Burke said Grenada is committed to establishing Tax Information and Double Taxation Agreements with its economically significant trading partners, on the basis that these agreements promote international transparency.
