The Director-General of the Real Estate Bank Milhim Dibou told «alwatan.sy» that the sanctions imposed by the EU finally to the Land Bank unjust and unfair and not justified because they are directed first and foremost against the Syrian people of all sects and classes, pointing out that stopping the deal long-cards belonging to the Syrian outside Syria, and remittances from and to Syria.
He pointed out that Dibou and correspondence of real estate transactions with other banks did not stop and continues as it has done before sanctions resolutions, taking into account that the ban was with dollar not with euro, where the euro is currently dealing in Syria.
And Dibou said that real estate has not received formal decision to switch in the dealings of the state of the dollar to the euro, but the reality of the situation on the ground indicates that, asserting that the alternative of the dollar is ready, can the concerned authorities, particularly the Central Bank of Syria to find alternative ways to deal in dollars, in order to preserve the stability of Syrian pound and ensure the continued trading and commercial traffic.
Dibou said that the profits of the real estate until the end of last August, totaling $ 4.5 billion Syrian pounds, indicating that the bank continues to lend to individuals and citizens and funding for various types of loans and total loans granted by the bank to the end of last July, 18.5 billion pounds, formed the mortgage part of the largest and most important of them.
