レバノンに関する2008年ドーハ合意をシリアがブロックしている（レバノンで新内閣が組閣できない）件につき、シリアとカタールの関係が険悪になっており、レバノン・ドゥルーズ派の有力政治家ジュンブラートがカタールのハマド国王を急遽訪問して仲介しようとしたが、物別れに終わった。レバノン紙の記事は細かすぎて、読み切れないのでパス。
口を利かない程度ならいいが、正式に国交断絶を宣言されると、新たなる展開となる。
