立憲君主制を目指しているかもしれないシリア

シリア議会の招待でヨルダン議員団がシリアを訪問。上院議長がアサド大統領と謁見し、ヨルダン国王からの書簡を渡した。王様からの手紙を、やけに真剣に読みふける大統領(↓写真参照)。毎晩一人で悩んでいるのかも。可愛いやつ(笑)。

なんでも、政治改革、選挙法、政党法について、ヨルダンの事例に学びたいそうだ。ヨルダンは大統領制ではなく、立憲君主制なんだけど、参考にする事例が間違っていない?(笑)

あと、そのヨルダンも荒れていますけど、ご存じ?(苦笑)

国内のデモ・暴動がヨルダンによる策略だと騒いでおきながら、「議会制度について貴国に学びたいのでよろしく」と伝えるのは、どんな感じなんでしょう?声を掛けられた方も当惑しているのかも(笑)。SANAの最後にヨルダン上院議員の言葉が書かれている。

Damascus, (SANA) - President Bashar al-Assad on Monday received a letter from King Abdullah II of Jordan on the latest developments in the Arab and regional arenas and the brotherly relations linking Syria and Jordan.

The letter was convoyed by Head of the Jordanian Senate, Taher al-Masri, during his meeting with President al-Assad.

King Abdullah, in his letter, stressed Jordan's keenness on the best relations between the two countries and on all what would enhance their security and stability.

President al-Assad and al-Masri reviewed the events witnessed by Syria and Jordan during the last period and the ongoing reforms in both countries at all levels. There was an emphasis on the importance of the two countries to mutually benefit from each other experience and expertise in this regard.

The meeting was attended by Speaker of the People's Assembly Dr. Mahmoud al-Abrash, Presidential Political and Media Advisor Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban, the delegation accompanying al-Masri and the Jordanian Ambassador in Damascus.

In the same context, Vice President Farouk al-Shara held a meeting with al-Masri and the accompanying delegation. Talks during the meeting focused on bilateral relations in various fields and means for bolstering and developing them to serve the interests of the Syrian and Jordanian people.

The two sides affirmed the need to activate the many agreements between the two countries and overcoming obstacles hindering their implementation, in addition to discussing regional developments in general.

Al-Shara and al-Masri stressed the importance of being aware of the threats and schemes that aim at udnerminging the stability and development of the Arab world with the intention of preventing it from confronting the challenges posed by the constant Israeli aggression against the Arab nation's rights and legitimate aspirations of the Paestinain people.

For his part, al-Masri affirmed Jordan's support for the reform steps undertaken by Syria under the leadership of President al-Assad and preserving security and stability in it.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Fayssal Mikdad and the Vice President's Political Advisor Tawfik Salloum.

Al-Masri also discussed with Speaker al-Abrash and caretaker Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Otri means of boosting parliamentary relations and exchanging expertise in the fields of legislation and laws and various cooperation prospects between the two countries.

The two sides agreed on establishing a joint parliamentary committee that aims at removing obstacles that hinder developing relations.

In a statement, al-Masri described his meeting with President al-Assad as fruitful and useful, as both sides exchanged viewpoints about bilateral relations and the importance of developing them between the two countries' parliamentarians and all constitutional establishments and leaderships.

He added "we feel that Syria and Jordan are more than just brotherly countries and there are mutual interests and joint development across the borders…and everything will go on the right track."

Al-Masri continued to say that he discussed with president al-Assad reform steps in Jordan towards achieving important changes, adding that President al-Assad gave an evaluation of reform steps in Syria.

Al-Masri said "security is considerably stable between Jordan and Syria and in the border areas … there is full awareness that we should keep our eyes wide open to resist the conspiracies surrounding us…this issue is under discussion between the two sides."

AMMAN (JT) - His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday sent a letter to Syrian President Bashar Assad on "bilateral ties and the latest developments in the region".

The message was delivered by Senate President Taher Masri, who was in Damascus to head a parliamentary delegation upon an official invitation from President of the Syrian People's Assembly Mahmoud Al Abrash, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The agency quoted Assad as saying that his country wants to learn from Jordan's experience in political reform, especially regarding the elections and political parties laws.

A panel representing various walks of life and political spectra is currently working on drafting recommendations regarding the two key laws in a way, as ordered by the King, which can ensure national consensus.

In a statement to Petra after the meeting with the Syrian leader, Masri said talks covered the reform process led by the King as well as Syria's reform plans.

He noted that the visit is designed to enhance bilateral ties between the Kingdom and Syria to serve the interests of both countries.

Masri also met with Abrash yesterday and agreed to form a joint coordination committee to develop parliamentary cooperation between the two countries to create a unified Arab position in international forums, Petra reported.

Masri stressed the Jordanian Parliament's commitment to enhance parliamentary cooperation with Syria and to resolve all outstanding issues between the two countries.

The Jordanian delegation also met with Syrian Vice President Farouk Sharaa and Syria's caretaker Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Otri. Talks focused on enhancing bilateral ties and the latest developments in the region.

Transfer of Senate President Taher Masri received a written message from His Majesty King Abdullah II to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad about the relations of cooperation between the two brotherly countries and keenness on boosting them in various fields.

This came during a meeting with President Assad on Monday to Senate President, who is visiting Syria at the head of a delegation from the parliament at the official invitation of President of the Syrian People's Assembly Mahmoud al-Abrash.

Masri said to Jordan News Agency (Petra) after the meeting that the countries of Syria, Jordan, two brothers and more than two brothers share common interests and common development. He has talked about the steps which the Reformation led by His Majesty the King, and we heard from Mr. President to his assessment on the steps undertaken by the Syrian Arab Republic. Masri pointed out that the previously scheduled visit comes within the framework of the strong brotherly relations between the two countries and will enhance bilateral cooperation and achieve common interests of the peoples of Jordan and the Syrian brothers.

He also met with Senate President and the delegation accompanying the President of the Syrian parliament Mahmoud al-Abrash and members of the Council in the presence of the Jordanian ambassador in Damascus on mayors, where it was agreed to set up a joint coordination committee between the Council of the nation of Jordan and the Syrian People's Council to develop mechanisms of parliamentary cooperation and coordination of positions in international forums.

Masri stressed keenness of the parliament on the development of parliamentary relations and further cooperation in the interests of the two brotherly peoples, in addition to work together to resolve all outstanding issues between the two countries.

For his part, Abrash the march of democracy in Syria and what they have and the interest of the development, in addition to the terms of reference of the People's Assembly and its role.

The delegation also met with Vice President Faruq al-Shara Syria where he was during the meeting discussed ways of strengthening bilateral relations in various fields. And Masri and the accompanying delegation discussed during their meeting with caretaker prime minister Muhammad Naji al-Otari ways to enhance parliamentary relations and exchange of experiences in various fields between the two countries.
