Damascus, (SANA) – During a weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Otri, the Cabinet passed on Tuesday a bill allowing non-Syrians to own real estate in the Syrian Arab Republic according to regulations and basis, terminating the execution of Law no. 11 for 2008.
The Cabinet also passed a bill on approving an agreement on higher education and scientific research signed by the Syrian and Lebanese governments.
The Ministers discussed two bills on establishing the Quality Regulation Agency and the National Council for Quality, referring the bills to the Cabinet's economic, services, infrastructure and human development committees to enrich them and rephrase them in accordance with the Cabinet's discussions and directives in order to present the bills to the Cabinet during a later session.
The Cabinet approved a number a suggestion from the Ministry of Information on licensing social and cultural dailies, in addition to approving suggestions from the Ministry of Industry on the mechanisms of investing some of its facilities.
