Italian banks have fled from Switzerland
Since Italy's government, the more rigorous fight against tax evaders has taken up the cause, Switzerland is not a good place for more Italian banks. The fear of raids but also the high cost of new regulation in the country is forcing institutions to sell its Swiss operations or close.

Analyst Marco Mazzoni of Magstat expects that the trend continues, "I am convinced that the closures continue, purchases and mergers in Lugano in the next two years, because the future of tax havens has changed."
